North Carolina Private Passenger Auto Rate Change
The North Carolina Reinsurance Facility has mandated a decrease to the Recoupment Surcharge and increases to other than clean ceded base rates effective October 1, 2018.

The North Carolina Reinsurance Facility has mandated changes to the following items effective 10/1/18:
Recoupment Surcharge: Surcharge will decrease from 13.24% to 10.98% (includes agent commission).
This change affects voluntary and ceded business.
Other than clean ceded base rates: Base rates are increasing for bodily injury, property damage, and medical payments. This change only affects other than clean ceded business. These changes will impact the entire industry, not just ERIE. More details of these changes are provided on the following pages.
